Our mission trip focused on our youth and young adjults will take us to the country of Peru and we will construct a church in Compone about an hour outside of Cusco. This means that we will be working at an elevation of around 11,000 feet above sea level. We have worked at this elevation in the past and will do everything we can to make sure everyone is safe, including providing oxygen, tea, and fluids to help with any of the symptoms caused by the higher elevation. However, if pre-existing conditions make it dangerous for you to live and work at this elevation for ten days, then please make sure to check with your doctor first
Our trip from July 7-18 includes building a church, conducting a VBS program, and leading out in a medical or dental mission, provided we have a doctor or dentist on the team. We will then take an excursion to the Machu Picchu and Cusco area.
Our final estimate is that the entire trip (including the excursion) will run around $2,000. If you are a teacher or still in school through college undergraduate level, we will continue to fundraise for sponsorships to offset that cost. The current plan is to offer sponsorships of up to $1,000, which (if funds are available), the cost for Students and Teachers would be approximately $1,000.
Please prayerfully consider if God is calling you to be part of these trips. If you have any questions, please do let me know. We would like to understand our numbers by early November so please let us know ASAP!
